Welcome to ILP! I have worked in the education field for eleven years, how the time flies. I grew up in southern California and discovered the beautiful Sacramento Valley when I attended UC Davis for my Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English and a minor in Education. I then proceeded to UC Santa Barbara to earn my Masters in Education and my teaching credential. I returned to Sacramento to start my first teaching assignment in a middle school in Sacramento City USD. While teaching middle school I realized that I wanted to work with older and more mature students, thus I came to Natomas Charter School and taught at the Performing and Fine Arts Academy as an English teacher. I further refined my passion for teaching by finding that I enjoyed working one-on-one with students and found a place in ILP as a teacher. After one year in that position I had the opportunity to become program coordinator. I have enjoyed my position tremendously as it allows me to work with students on planning for their future goals and providing a supportive learning environment for students. This year I have been given the opportunity to also work with the PACT program and learn more about homeschooling and k-6 education.  I see PACT as fitting in with my passion for meeting the needs of students through a supportive environment. I truly believe that any student can succeed with the right setting, desire, and support.

Outside of school I enjoy playing with my five year old daughter and my husband. We spend many afternoons at the park or playing in our backyard. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, biking, practicing yoga, and reading. Most of all I enjoy helping other people and learning about our ever changing world. Please feel free to stop by and share what you know with me.
